About Palm Health Foundation’s Nursing Scholarships
Thanks to our generous donors, Palm Health Foundation annually provides needs-based scholarships to assist local students to enter and advance in the nursing professions. Our nursing scholarships
provide financial support for those in undergraduate, graduate and doctorate programs. Minimum scholarship awards are $2,500, and the average award is $5,000.
Match Program Details
- Matching Period: December 1, 2025 – January 31, 2026
- Matching Promise: Donations matched dollar-for-dollar, up to $10,000
- Fund Eligibility: Open to contributions toward existing funds and the establishment of new ones
A Call that Changed Everything
Generosity helped me become a nurse. Together, we can open doors for others like me.
When I first began my nursing journey, I believed I was financially prepared. I had saved, planned, and felt ready.
But life had other plans. Two weeks into nursing school, I became ill and was diagnosed with cancer. My resources were completely exhausted. It all happened during the COVID pandemic. I was struggling to keep up. Balancing life as a student, a wife, a mother of four boys, and a bonus mom to my cousin felt nearly impossible.
Then one day, I received a phone call that changed everything—an invitation to interview for The Debra Coffman Howe Nursing Scholarship Fund through Palm Health Foundation.
When I was awarded the scholarship, it felt like a tremendous burden was lifted. Not just from me, but from my family as well. It allowed me to breathe again, to focus on my studies, and to continue pursuing my dream of becoming a nurse.
Because of that support, I graduated with honors and later earned my bachelor's degree in nursing.
Today, I work as a charge nurse at a Level II trauma Emergency room, where I get to make a difference in people's lives every day. And my journey isn't over—I'm now preparing to become a nurse practitioner.
The Palm Health Foundation didn't just provide financial help—they gave me confidence, hope, and the opportunity to fulfill my purpose. That's why I now give back to Palm Health Foundation, paying forward that same hope and opportunity for future scholars in need.
