When to Bring Palm Health Foundation In

You do not need to wait until a client has chosen a charitable vehicle, decided to make a gift, or finalized an estate plan.

A conversation with Palm Health Foundation may be useful when a client says:

  • “Alzheimer’s changed our family.”
  • “I want part of my estate to improve health here.”
  • “I want to help future nurses or mental health professionals.”
  • “I already have a donor-advised fund. I want to understand where it could be useful locally.”
  • “I want my charitable giving to have an impact in Palm Beach County.”
  • “I know what matters to me, but I am not sure what this community will need 20 years from now.”

Your client may already know exactly what they care about. Our role is not to redirect that interest.

We can help explore a different question:

What could this charitable intention mean for health in Palm Beach County?

That conversation can happen before any decision is made about a gift, fund, charitable vehicle, or estate provision.

What Palm Health Foundation Brings to the Conversation

Local Health Knowledge

Palm Health Foundation focuses specifically on health in Palm Beach County.

We can help advisors and clients understand the local context surrounding health needs, organizations, initiatives, emerging issues, and philanthropic opportunities.

The purpose is not to tell clients what they should care about. It is to add useful local perspective to what already matters to them.

Charitable Intent and Stewardship

A client may know the experience, issue, institution, profession, or community they care about without having decided how narrowly or broadly to define their charitable purpose.

We can help explore questions such as:

  • What does the client most want the charitable resources to accomplish?
  • What should remain constant over time?
  • Where could flexibility be useful?
  • How important is Palm Beach County to the client’s intention?
  • What should future family members or decision-makers understand about why this matters?
  • How can the charitable intention remain meaningful as community needs change?

The client’s professional advisors determine how those intentions are reflected in legal, tax, financial, fiduciary, and estate-planning structures.

Local Philanthropic Perspective

We can help clients understand different ways charitable resources may support health locally, including existing charitable funds, philanthropic initiatives, scholarships, community partnerships, and emerging opportunities.

Sometimes our most useful role is simply helping a client understand the local landscape before a decision is made.

Your Client Does Not Need to Establish a Fund With Us

Palm Health Foundation can be useful even when a client already has a charitable vehicle.

If a client has a:

  • donor-advised fund
  • private foundation
  • charitable trust
  • family philanthropy structure
  • estate plan
  • other charitable resource

We can provide local health context and information about relevant philanthropic opportunities.

A client may decide to act through a charitable structure they already have.

When establishing a charitable fund with Palm Health Foundation is appropriate, we can also discuss available options and help clarify the charitable purpose the client wants the fund to serve.

Where a Client’s Health Interests May Lead

Health philanthropy often begins with a personal experience, a profession, a community concern, or a desire to prepare for needs that may change over time.

Brain Health

For some families, brain health becomes personal through Alzheimer’s disease, dementia, mental or behavioral health, caregiving, neuroscience, or another lived experience.

Palm Health Foundation can help advisors and families understand the local philanthropic landscape surrounding those interests.

Scholarships and the Health Workforce

A client’s interest may begin with the professionals who cared for them or with a desire to strengthen the future health workforce.

Palm Health Foundation stewards charitable scholarship funds supporting students pursuing nursing and mental and behavioral health professions.

Thriving Communities

Health is influenced by more than clinical care.

Community conditions, connection, access, family support, and opportunity all influence health and well-being. Palm Health Foundation supports community-informed approaches to strengthening health across Palm Beach County.

Where It Matters Most

Long-term charitable planning often raises an important question:

How much should be defined today, and how much flexibility should remain for needs that cannot yet be anticipated?

Some clients want charitable resources to remain responsive to urgent, overlooked, or emerging health needs in Palm Beach County.

Palm Health Foundation can help advisors and clients explore how that flexibility may fit within their broader charitable intentions.

How We Work with Professional Advisors

Bring us the question.

A health-related charitable interest may surface during estate planning, financial planning, tax planning, trust administration, or a family conversation.

You do not need to determine the philanthropic answer before contacting us.

Choose the level of involvement that is useful.

We can work:

  • directly with you in an advisor-only conversation
  • behind the scenes by providing information and local context
  • with you and your client in a joint conversation when invited
  • with family members when that is consistent with the client’s wishes

Direct access to your client is not required.

You continue to lead the professional advisory relationship.

You remain responsible for your area of professional expertise and for your relationship with the client.

Palm Health Foundation contributes local health knowledge, charitable context, fund knowledge, philanthropic opportunities, and stewardship experience.

You lead the professional advisory relationship. We support the charitable conversation.

We stay involved at the level that is useful.

Some advisors need a single piece of information. Others may want a continuing philanthropic resource as a client’s plans develop.

We can participate at the level that best supports you and your client.

Ways to Give

Planning a Charitable Gift Through an Estate

Palm Health Foundation may be named as a charitable beneficiary through an estate plan.

If a client is considering a gift for a specific Palm Health Foundation fund, health priority, or restricted charitable purpose, we encourage the advisor to contact us before documents are finalized.

An early conversation can help confirm:

  • the foundation’s correct legal name
  • the appropriate charitable fund name
  • the intended charitable purpose
  • whether flexibility should be considered
  • information the drafting attorney may need

The client’s attorney remains responsible for drafting the appropriate legal language.
