Grantee Spotlight: Inspiring Love, Joy, and Healing Through Music
Palm Health Foundation supports the Mind, Music, and Movement Foundation (M3F), a Palm Beach County Neuroarts Collaborative member and nonprofit that serves people living with a neurodegenerative disease and their families.
Among its many programs, M3F provides a weekly music program, The Voices of Parkinson’s Chorus. Singing helps participants improve their voice projection, diction, cognition, and mood. In addition to this, the chorus is a social haven for both participants and volunteers.

Louise P. brings her husband to the chorus and has found singing to be more beneficial than other therapy options. The chorus inspired them to incorporate more music into their daily lives and they often play their favorite song from chorus at home, “Yellow Submarine,” by The Beatles.
“Thanks to Palm Health Foundation’s grant, we will continue to foster hope and self-confidence in people living with Parkinson’s and other neurodegenerative diseases. It’s extraordinary what music does for people; it expresses love, joy, and gives an unexplainable energetic feeling that can touch emotions and the heart.” – Beth Elgort, MSW, Founder and CEO, The Mind, Music, and Movement Foundation
Palm Health Foundation, The Voices of Parkinson’s Chorus, and choral students from Florida Atlantic University are collaborating to present, “The Science of Singing” during
